Jacqueline com I agree that we should have longer time frames
feedback. Yet another suggestion may be to not send anyone credentials,
that although Matt and Sylvia requested several times for all
manifistense, it is best to have votacin directly by a system
the website and doodle or similar, where you sign up with your name and
system does not allow duplication etc. It is simpler and more easy to
all the better to ensure everyone has received a credential etc.
Truth also is vern vacation time in the northern hemisphere.
We must also consider the months considered com as Vern in
 Southern Hemisphere votacin issues.
 Hugs

 Dear all
I have some doubts about the procedures that have been votacin
recently implemented. We had voting Periods are as
short as three days. It is difficult for people whose main job
LACRALO not respond to these Periods of limited time and
I think these shorts are actually depriving electoral Periods of
rights to some of our ALSes. This can be seen in the lower
 participation of votes recently.

This is especially difficult since it is holiday time and again
school time in many passes, and people do not estnecesariamente in
charge, but instead of spending time with their families. I can attest to
this, as it was away with my family for four days, and
perdila call a vote ejecuciny closing completely. Within
 a week!

In addition, there was a recent vote that seemed very strange for men
 process.

The votacin on artculo 8 was not quorum, so it was a
 extension. The votacin
PERIOD of 3 days. The first extension was for 2 days. A second
 ampliacin was
called for the extension of the vote to be consistent with
 and standards
LACRALO procedures (the same term as the original vote). The
result was announced as the vote was quorum.Time line of
 shows a continuacin:

 At-Large votacin announces start:
 22-Aug-2012 23:59 UTC to 25-Aug-2012 23:59 UTC

 Sylvia announces extension
Voting extended from Friday August 24 22:39:28 UTC 2012 to
 Sunday August 26
at 23:59 UTC (ignoring translation issue)

 3) http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/pipermail/lac-discuss-en/2012/006573.html

Jose Arce says "initial vote took place from 22 August to
 the
24 (including doing 3 days) and the length is 25, 26 and
 27 (3 days) ".

 4) http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/pipermail/lac-discuss-en/2012/006581.html

Sylvia announces results on August 28, 1500 UTC
(Not shown the results of those who voted what)

 What should have happened
 - If the vote was 22-Aug to 25-Aug and then extended for 3 days and then
end of voting should be on 28 August 2012, 23:59 UTC
 -

We have also had complaints of voting credentials are not
 receiving. This
not a new complaint. However, with longer periods of vote
 is
likely that there would be time for ALSes to 1) know that voting is
up, 2) Determine that the credentials have or have not received
and 3) have submitted valid credentials and 4) be able to cast their vote.

At least 2 of the last vote, the representatives of ALS have
 complained that
not had time to follow the above steps 1-4 before
 close vote
and the results were announced. They were deprived of their rights.

In addition, there has been at least one incident in which a candidate
please send the result to the list long before the
 results were published.
This suggests that there was a communication process
between the Secretariat and the candidate. I'm not saying anything
was unfavorable, but it is very important that democratic processes

fully transparent and open, and, as the saying goes:

"Elections must not only be free and fair, but also
must be seen to be free
 and fair. "

That is not happening, and I would like to take the lead LACRALO
 the
these processes reins firmly in hand, sooner rather than later.
