[lac-discuss-en] Developing Cross-Border Privacy Rules and Enforcement Frameworks

The U.S. Department of Commerce has submitted the very first request  in
the APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPRs) system.

There are some pre-requisites for participating economies:


   - Confirmation that there is a privacy enforcement agency that will
   participate in the Cross-Border Privacy Enforcement Arrangement;
   - Notice that the economy will use at least one APEC-recognized
   accountability agency; and
   - A description of the domestic laws and other legal mechanisms to
   support enforcement activities
