[lac-discuss-en] Next steps regarding LACRALO Delegate to NomCom 2011

To Jacqueline Morris and Carlos Vera,

Thank you for submitting your nomination to be a delegate from LACRALO
to the ICANN Nominating Committee
(NomCom ; http://nomcom.icann.org/) for a one year term.

While LACRALO does NOT formally elect a representative to the NomCom,
LACRALO has to submit to ALAC a list of all
accepted regional nominations for the NomCom position and may also
make a recommendation of a preferred candidate to the ALAC. The ALAC
then votes on all nominations received.

However, previous recommendations of a preferred candidate from
LACRALO was done by a vote by LACRALO which will be announced as soon
as it can be ready.

The timeline provided by ALAC is as follows
1. Nominations Open: 10 July 2011
2. Nominations Close: 27 July 2011
3. Nomination Acceptance Deadline: On or Before 30 July 2011
4. ALAC Notification: RALOs to transmit all accepted nominations
(with a recommendation for a preferred candidate if the RALO wishes to
Provide one) on 3 August 2011
5. ALAC Selection and Endorsement Vote On-Line: 4 August 2011 to 12
August 2011.
6. Appointed to NomCom of Notification: No Later Than 15 August 2011

I would suggest that although you have accepted your nomination on the list to:

1) formally accept the nomination by July 30 2011 confirming you have
read and understood the
"Obligations and Requirements of 2012 NomCom Delegates" page at
https://community.icann.org/x/gIMi

2) provide a Statement of Interest (SOI) for LACRALO's and ALAC's consideration.

Your SOI's will be posted on the LACRALO Delegate to NomCom 2011 page at
https://community.icann.org/x/SIAfAQ
