[lac-discuss-en] a quick comment about Brussels GAC + Board meeting

Dear Carlos,

I was present for both morning sessions (but missed the afternoon due to
work), I am sharing my initial impressions but I would like to review the
full transcript before giving a proper summary.

Alot was discussed on the first day, at times it appeared that some of the
GAC members were not as prepared as the Board members. The impression was
that while they were very prepared in some areas, in others it seemed as if
they want to institute restrictions but cannot suggest how the process
should be modified. Worse yet, in some instances (eg. for generic words) it
was felt that they want to go beyond what is present in existing
legislation!

The second day (today) has been a bit staggered, with a few initial speeches
meant to refocus both groups on the contentious topic areas and a big gap
during the day where both groups met separately (and no observers/remote
participation was allowed).

The transcripts will be available and I will be happy to forward them to the
list (if staff does not do so).
