I should offer one small clarification to the Secretariat's message. The electorate is as outlined but the vote of the NonCom-appointed ALAC member is not and cannot be bound by LACRALO.

My interventions on this list is as the representative of an ALS in LACRALO in good standing.


I am and always be opposed to a directed vote. My position is based on a practical understanding of how an organization whose actions are grounded in consensus - the original LACRALO framework - ought to behave.

Call this informed principle, if you will.  Elect seriously informed and thoughtful people and capture by any faction can never succeed.

- the 15 persons on the ALAC
- the 5 RALO chairs

As decided by consensus at the LACRALO conference call on 21 October 2010
