Here are the outcomes and notes from the LACRALO Showcase Working
Group teleconference call on Friday Oct 1 2010

for background details of the LACRALO Showcase to take place at the
ICANN meeting in December 2010.

Present : Heidi Ullrich (staff), Dev Anand Teelucksingh, Sylvia Herlein Leite,

Dev T offered himself and was accepted as chair.

A possible speaking schedule was drafted as follows :

Opening Comments and Introduction of Keynote Speaker - Rod Beckstrom
(TBC) (5 mins)
Keynote speaker - (TBD) - Alejandro Pisanty (suggested by DevT)
At-Large Liaison to the Board - Vanda Scartezini (TBC)
ALAC Chair - Cheryl Langdon-Orr (TBC)
LACRALO Chair - Andres Piazza (TBC) (introduces LACRALO and ALSes)
ALSes - 2 mins each
Sponsor to speak - 5 mins (TBC)
NomCom speaker - José Ovidio Salgueiro (TBC)
LACRALO Secretariat - Dev Anand Teelucksingh - Closing Remarks

AFRALO and EURALO were primarily conducted in English. Can that work
for the LACRALO showcase? Is interpretation possible? At Large Staff
will ask ICANN Language services if remote interpretation services
would be possible at the event.

The tentative date and time for the LACRALO showcase is Monday 6
December 2010 between 18:00-19:00

ALL ALSes in LACRALO would be requested to submit ALS factsheets for
display during the LACRALO showcase. The

A factsheet template will be developed by Dev T.
At-Large Staff will translate the template into Spanish and Br. Portuguese

The completed language versions would be sent to the mailing list and
ALSes would be encouraged to complete them for their own ALS. Use of a
photo showcasing the ALS is encouraged.

Sponsorship for LACRALO Showcase was discussed since an evening event
would require funding for drinks and fingerfood for an estimated 50-60
persons.
At Large Staff will get an budget estimate from ICANN meeting staff
for 60 persons. At Large Staff will also confirm whether equipment
costs will be covered by ICANN.

The following organisations were seen as potential sponsors : LACTLD,
ISOC , .co ccTLD
Letters would need to be prepared ; sponsors would be allowed to
display their logo on all printed materials (on the bottom of the ALS
template and the poster) and invited to speak at the event.

A Poster will be developed by the LACRALO Showcase WG. The poster is a
A4 size sheet to advertise the LACRALO Showcase and would be displayed
at the ICANN registration booths at the Cartagena meeting.

The terrace (by the ocean) was considered to be a suitable location.
At Large Staff will ask Meetings Staff how quickly the location could
be changed or possible alternations to be added to the venue if it
rained or if there would be additional costs for meeting logistics at
that location.

A draft timetable for the organising of the LACRALO Showcase event was
discussed. The Showcase will be an agenda item on the next LACRALO
call on 21 October 2010. By October 11, a decision will be taken on
whether a separate LACRALO Showcase WG teleconference would take place
on either October 13, 14, or the 15th.

At Large Staff will create the LACRALO Showcase mailing list ; persons
who were supposed to be on this teleconference would be added to this
list.
