If I may, a low-hanging explanation of why the gTLD and IPv6 are
important to end users.  They both intersect at the addressing
interface; how you find what you find on the Internet.

gTLDs is a reference point for lots more websites.  The new gTLD
processes are therefore key to understanding how many and under what
conditions.

IPv6 is a reference point for lots more 'things" connected to the
Internet.  IPv6 wiil, among other things, enable lots more unique
addresses over IPv4.

Names and Numbers coordination is the ICANN remit. So traction on the
issues of IPv6 and gTLD on behalf of ordinary users is advised.
