Estimado Nick: 

gracias por responderme tan rápido! 

el motivo de mi mensaje anterior fue para hacerles ver la necesidad de los
servicios de traducción para la real participación de todos los miembros del
LACRALO y no solamente para mi ( ya que algo entiendo de inglés). Por eso
insto a mis compañeros latinoamericanos a expresarse y solicitar, en lo
posible, los servicios de traducción. 

Estuvimos hablando mucho entre los miembros activos de la lista sobre la
importancia de expresarnos ante esta Nueva política de viajes determinada
por ICANN. 

AHORA ES EL MOMENTO DE HACERLO! 

DE NADA SERVIRÁ QUE PODAMOS PREGUNTAR EN ESPAÑOL POR ESCRITO, SI NO SABEN LO
QUE SE ESTÁ DICIENDO.

In fact I asked for the translations services for all the members of Lacralo
and not only for me ( because I understand a little English). 

That's why I beck to the LACRALO's fellows to ask for that service at once!

Now is the time!

It won't help to ask by writing questions if we don't know what they are

Dear Sylvia:

We had discussed this with the ALAC Chair, who thought that due because
there are often audio problems on interpreted calls, it would be better if
we didn’t try to have interpretation on that call, especially since there
are likely to be large numbers of participants, and the more participants
there are, the more audio problems we have. What we were going to do is to
let everyone use the chat feature in Adobe Connect to ask questions in
spanish, english or french, and then have those questions answered...

However, since you’ve asked, and it seems from your message that there are
likely to be others who need the service, we will ask if we can have Spanish
interpretation for you on the travel call.

Desde el Anuncio de At-Large y los nuevos procedimientos para viajes,
Lacralo ha hablado mucho en su región. Ahora ustedes nos están invitando

Esto es inposible para nuestra región! No es suficiente con que nos inviten,

poquito más de esfuerzo para realmente incluirnos en la discución. Sabemos
que están haciendo un esfuerzo enorme traduciendo los principales documentos
y les somos gratos, pero lamentablemente no podremos aportar nada si no
entendemos lo que van a decir el próximo miércoles.

Dear Staff:
Since the announcement of At-large Travel and the New Travel Procedures, the
LACRALO have been talking a lot inside their region. Now you are inviting us
to participate in a discussion about the New travel policy, but without
Spanish interpretation!!!.
This is impossible for our region! It is not enough to invite us, because
the majority it's not able to understand a word in English specially in a
meeting of only one hour.
A sugestion: Why don’t we use the translation services that will be used on
the next meeting, the Tim Cole's meeting, there will be Spanish and French
translation, won't it?!
If you really want our participation, or maybe I would say, If you really
want to heard our opinion, please you will need to do a little more effort
in order to really included us in the discussion. We know you are doing a
huge effort concerning translation the principal document and we appreciate
that, but let me tell you, we won't be able to say a word if we don't
understand the explanation that you will give us on the next Wednesday.

We would like to invite you to a discussion on the new travel policy for
At-Large this Wednesday, 20 August at 1300 UTC.

There has been quite a bit of discussion about the new Travel Procedures for
Volunteers announced on 13th August (
http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-13aug08-en.htm). This
procedure changes considerably the travel support for the community and for
At-Large in particular.

The call is to discuss the new approach and its impact on At-Large with
Denise Michel, VP Policy Development, and Doug Brent, COO.

There will be no interpretation for this call. Spanish and French speakers
are encouraged to join the Adobe Connect channel for this meeting and submit
their questions in the chat room. You can also use the comment button on the
meeting page below to send your question in advance.
