I will post a message on the EURALO list, but let me first make a couple of comments to our membership list.
The problem about the poll is that as of now it is still unclear how the vote will be run. Each ALS representative will have up to 5 votes, that must be given to 5 different candidates. What is unclear is whether votes have to be given to people of different nationality/residence or not. I hope that we will have a final decision at tonight’s EURALO teleconference.
After the withdrawal of Stéphane we have still 2 candidates registered as French and 2 candidates registered as Austria. The other 3 candidates are from different countries and will therefore be elected anyway (if they get at least one vote).
I plan to cast a vote for the remaining candidates that were nominated by our Association - except for myself, of course - for the rest of the lot I will play it by ear, unless there is a strong voice from the members.
One issue for clarification. You might have noticed that Clément Genty is running for office and is a member of our Association. I have not nominated him for the simple reason that I believe that the formal nomination for an EURALO position by our association should be done for members who have been active in the association. However, this does not mean that voters that are unhappy with the known candidates would not decide that they prefer the unknown.

One question: how do we, as a group, plan to organise our vote? The way I see it, there is very little time to set up a poll for example. I would therefore support giving our Chair the latitude to decide which candidates to support from our group, if that feels like the right way forward to others.

Hi Everyone,

I wish to withdraw my application for the EURALO Board.

As stated when I ran, I did so because there was a dearth of candidates at the time. Since then, several candidates have come forward and there are more than enough from France.

As I also stated I would support getting people who have not been so heavily involved before.

I would therefore like to support my fellow Frenchman Clément Genty. Clément comes to us from the NextGen program and is in my mind exactly the type of person that we should be pushing to try and get more involved in these leadership positions as a relative newcomer to the ICANN process.

Item 4 - the EURALO Board Appointments
