NomCom selects people for positions that are crucial for the functioning of the organizations. From outreach to various parts of the community to understand how the Board, GNSO, ccNSO function, and being able to actually carry out the interviews and deliberate -- it is absolutely essential that the person is mature and experienced and has a proven track record of devoting significant time to ICANN and actively participating in the community. One needs to understand how community works, what skills are needed for positions, and be able to assess the applicants of quite a senior level. </div><div>Bastiaan's technical and policy experience, his involvement in both ICANN (and his proven track record of active participation) and a broader internet community make him a great candidate that can really represent EURALO and At-Large community "At-Large" on NomCom.
