As mentioned in my earlier email, Wolf Ludwig has offered Wale his mentoring assistance so we have a smooth transition of duties. The hand-over will take place at the forthcoming ICANN meeting in Abu Dhabi.<br><br>I would like to thank Wolf for his years of faithful service in EURALO. He has kept EURALO going for so many years - this truly is an achievement, in a region where everyone is already so busy and where the potential incentives that can be found on some of the other continents, are not so significant where people take the Internet for granted. <br>The European region spans so large and is so diverse that we have all sorts of challenges - from the geographical balance that we need to have, to the fact that some parts of our region have access problems that are as significant as in poorer parts of the world. The contrast is such, that ICANN has two Regional VPs to cover the region. Wolf has successfully navigated this complex environment for many years, even before the Regional VPs were in place, and I'd like to really thank him for that. I'd also like to thank him for having helped me into the position of EURALO Chair. I had worked with him in the past when I was assuming the position of Secretary and he taught me a lot.
