Why is the dot VU ccTLD popular with German speaking Internet users? 
Very high number of German registrants and webpages using .VU names 
in German.

I know registrations were free and some German registrars are still 
offering names at no cost.  But is there something about VU that's 
particularly relevant to German language or use (example an 
abbreviation for something like Ltd. or Plc company registration.)
