Dear all,

as current election terms expire (and pre-announced already on 6.08.), we have to open the process for the succession of Sébastien Bachollet’s ALAC seat starting from ICANN’s next Annual General Meeting in December in Cartagena/Colombia (AGM 2010 - AGM 2012). As Sébastien will complete his second term already by the end of year, he cannot be nominated again for an immediate prolongation.

According to the Suggested Election Timeline, EURALO now opens a call for nominations for the open ALAC position (succession of Sébastien Bachollet):

1. Call for election: The regional Secretariat will make a call for election.

2. Nomination period: Nominations for this ALAC position can be posted on the EURALO list now and shall be accepted until 6 September 2010.

3. Acceptance deadline: The nominees need to accept their nomination no later than seven days after the nomination period ends (13 September 2010).

4. Election: The election (if we reach a quorum of participation) will be held during the next EURALO General Assembly 2010 on 15 September in Vilnius/Lithuania in line with the next Internet Governance Forum (IGF). If no quorum for elections will be reached, we will approve the nomination and discuss a formalising procedure. 

The EURALO election process 2010 will be an agenda point at our next monthly call coming Tuesday, 17 August PM (a call reminder will follow via a separate mail).

We would appreciate your nominations now and keep you informed about the process.
