[EURO-Discuss] Lisbon Follow Up

Sunday is the same day as the LACRALO and NARALO meetings, so they won't be
able to make it Sunday.
Check with Nick - the last day he suggested to me was Tuesday afternoon...
not sure how the schedule is running now - I haven't seen a full draft yet.

Thanks Jackie

there is no need to have the two workshops on the same day. I proposed
Sunday for the gTLD workshop, Robin Wednesday for the FOE workshop. Robin
wanted to consult this pro9posal with Milton an d others in the NCUC. Lets
hear what their position is than lates make an joint announcement.

best

Hello everyone
I thought that it would make sense to have a joint NCUC/ALAC session with
each session having its own timeslot - we had originally planned to have an
ALAC afternoon with 2 sessions - one the gTLD workshop and one the "hot
issues" workshop. I am OK with having the gTLD workshop moved to a joint
ALAC/NCUC morning or afternoon with the Freedom of expression session - I
didn't think that the two parts needed to be linked topically - or are we
talking about conflating the two into one?
They are linked in that they are issues that are important to end-users. The
event (the morning or afternoon) could be jointly marketed.

It would be good to have an outline of both, because the links between
gegraphical domain names and freedom of speech are not obvious to me.
This does not mean that we cannot call both workshops under one umbrella, to
foster also better communication between ALAC and NCUC, but just that we
should be careful in forcing links that are not clear in the mind of the
average attendee.

Cheers,
Roberto
