Extension of Comment Period on Telnic Proposal

7 June 2007

On 11 May 2007, ICANN opened a public comment period on a proposal from 
Telnic Ltd. to amend the terms in the .TEL Registry Agreement concerning 
the public display of Whois information, *MailScanner has detected a 
possible fraud attempt from "www.icann.org" claiming to be* 
wwwicann.org/announcements/announcement-11may07.htm 
<http://www.icann.org/announcements/announcement-11may07.htm>. In 
accordance with requests, ICANN is extending the public comment period 
through 28 June 2007.

A copy of the proposed amendment is available at 
http://www.icann.org/tlds/agreements/tel/tel-amendment-30may07.pdf [PDF, 
25K] and provides for changes to Appendix 1, Appendix 5 and Appendix S, 
Part VI of the .TEL Registry Agreement. ICANN has added a comparison 
document

showing the proposed changes to the registry agreement appendices. ICANN 
has also created a dedicated comment forum on the Telnic proposal.

and may be viewed at
