TO: M. JFC Morfin, france at large
FROM: ICANN At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC)
SUBJECT: At-Large Structure Certification
CC: At-Large Advisory Committee Executive Committee, Board of the European
Regional At-Large Organisation (EURALO)
The ICANN At-Large Staff have been asked to inform you that the ICANN's
At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) has carefully considered your application
for At-Large Structure (ALS) status and has decided by formal vote that your
organisation does not meet the requirements for certification. For your
reference, you may find in detail the written criteria by which applications
are judged at http://www.atlarge.icann.org/en/node/824. The process as a
whole may be found at http://www.atlarge.icann.org/en/node/825.
This decision is based upon several factors, including the recommendation of
members of the [European] Regional At-Large Organisation ([EU]RALO) who have
themselves reviewed your application and associated information and
recommended against accreditation of your organisation.
We will be providing to you by separate electronic mail more detailed
information to clarify the specific issues with your application that led to
our decision. You will receive this communication not more than seven (7)
calendar days from the date of transmission of this email.
Upon receipt of that communication, if you believe that the decision is
based upon incorrect information or for any other reason wish to appeal the
decision of ALAC, the following options are available to you:
1. Request that the ALAC Reconsider Its Decision
If you believe that the reasons for the adverse decision are not correct
once you have received them, you may ask the ALAC to reconsider the
decision. When requesting ALAC reconsideration, please provide details of
why you believe the decision is not correct in as much detail as you believe
will be useful, and transmit this by email, along with any supplementary
documentation you believe relevant, to staff at atlarge.icann.org
<mailto:staff at atlarge.icann.org> . The staff will acknowledge receipt and
transmit the information to the ALAC.
2. Contact the ICANN Ombudsman
ICANN has established the Office of the Ombudsman to evaluate and where
possible resolve complaints about unfair or inappropriate treatment by
ICANN. For more information about ICANN's Ombudsman, please visit
http://www.icann.org/ombudsman/ <http://www.icann.org/ombudsman/> . If you
have a dispute you want the Ombudsman to investigate, or to contact the
Ombudsman, please visit http://www.icann.org/ombudsman/contact.htm
<http://www.icann.org/ombudsman/contact.htm> .
3. ICANN Board of Directors Reconsideration
ICANN's Board of Directors has established a Reconsideration Committee to
handle requests from any person or entity that has been materially affected
by any ICANN staff action if such person or entity believes the action
contradicts established ICANN policies, or by actions of the Board that such
person or entity believes has been taken without consideration of material
information. Note: this is a brief summary of the relevant Bylaws
provisions. For more information about ICANN's reconsideration process,
please visit http://www.icann.org/committees/reconsideration
<http://www.icann.org/committees/reconsideration> .
