It might also be helpful to send a gentle reminder say 24 hours
before the closure or so.

To be honest, 5-day or 1-week voting timing is sometimes
hard to meet. It may sound odd, but with all the workload,
travel, many emails piled up, a "soft" approach may help
collect more votes from all of us.
