[At-Large] [ALAC-Internal] RES: Notice of Opening for Board Liaison Nominations Period

Thank you Vanda, Beau would indeed, in my opinion make an excellent
candidate for this important role. 

Whilst from the Chair I will neither nominate or second candidates, I do
most heartily endorse the opportunity for the ALAC to consider, such
experienced, capable and accomplished candidates, who as this role requires,
need to work so closely with the ALAC and our ExCom (in fact I would see it
in some ways as an Ex-Officio ExCom role) in the coming year... 

I do remind the ALAC that:-
1. nominations or self nominations must come from ALAC Members, (as outlined
earlier this week by Nick)
2. there is no requirement to second, but 
3. candidates must accept nominations to the Public list...  This can happen
at any time after nomination but *must* occur within 7 days of the close of
the nomination period.
4. voting by the ALAC Members will occur after the Paris meeting.

I trust that if they are indeed able to make the commitment required of this
pivotal role over the coming ALAC and ICANN year, that both these candidates
(along naturally, with any other who is nominated between now and 1200 UTC
on the 16th June) will accept these nominations, and that in Paris we will
(under Rule 9.5) discuss all nominations (including the opportunity for
Candidate statements to be given and Q&A/interview) in our ALAC meeting(s).
