[At-Large] Nomination for Vice-Chair

Thank you for your clarification Alan... I was not questioning the validity
of acting in both capacities, under our ROP's; Rather asking if he was able
to confirm that he was:
1. intending to offer to undertake the two roles, 
OR was it 
2. an 'either / or' situation, 
and or 
3. if SSAC nominations need to be actively pursued from another candidate(s)
if he no longer wished to undertake that role...

If you are unaware of Roberts' likely hood of accepting the Vice Chair
nomination or not, I will hold those questions until he confirms one way or
the other... the  retransmit as required...

Two parts to the answer.

First, I nominated him, but he has not accepted, so I cannot say 
anything about what he wants to do.

Second, I can find nothing in our Rules that prohibit someone acting 
as an Officer and a Liaison at the same time. The rules do prohibit a 
person serving in two Liaison positions at the same time, and also 
from serving in two officer positions at the same time. But unless I 
missed something, they are silent on serving as a Liaison and Officer 
at the same time.

I explicitly commented on the new ROP separating the definition of 
Officers and Liaison in my comments on the draft ROP. The earlier 
draft that Vittorio had done described both Liaison and Chair/Vice 
Chair as officers.
