I agree, Wendy.
However, I think it's a good time for the ALAC/ICANN to change its tack.
The ALSs are supposed to have a voting interest (for the board? - I can't
remember as its been too long) as if we'd ever really been asked.
At least, though now we are opening diologue, whereas before there was no
interest in input and nobody listened anyway.
The structure that ICANN is manufacturing may actually work, but there has
to be an effort toward making it work. I fear though, in true ICANN form
that it could still take years before ALSs are truly recognized as a part of
the process.
