Dear John,
It's a great loss for all of us to miss you. I read your blog and
had very few points to argue against. Yes we may be bunch
of idealists and/or dreamers, maybe sometimes "semipros"
but getting little results and rewards.
I also agree that three-tier structure with ALS/RALO is cumbersome
and adding more burdens than efficiency - having just completed the
APRALO formation - and you knew I was critical about them when
I wrote Self-review draft.
Ombudsman's case was another pitfall for ALAC.
The only, perhaps, difference between you and me now is that
I still am trying to stay inside. Hopeless? maybe. It is like
deciding if I sell the stock I bought 5 years ago now or later
in the middle of market collapse after some ups and downs ;-)
I have invested my energy, like many others, and yet to obtain
the returns. If, as John feels, it is 100% certain that we will not
get the return, but just "papers" we better quit now.
I will try a little more.
I liked your good and often a little cynical but on-target observations.
We lose great insights. I hope you remain our good friends. I am
sure you will.
