There were a couple of sessions on the topic in Singapore and a group of us also met with ICANN senior management to discuss options. 

At present the "system" is very much angled towards north American companies - it doesn't work well for anyone else, which is part of the reason why there are relatively few ICANN accredited registrars outside North America

It's not just an issue of the "South"

FYI.  This would be of interest for those of us in the South.  I know Evan and Dev have always been close to this issue; it was a baseline for Summit I. Maybe the ALAC would engage again and act appropriately.
