@Carlton, I used the MAC as an illustration of something that end users can
relate to as opposed to Cisco switches and routers which Telcos and ISPs
incorporate into the telecommunications infrastructure. Both work to
explain the battle that rages.

I know that Cisco and Huawei had settled out of court on alleged
intellectual property rights infringements which was discovered when Cisco
released a patch for a specific thing which Huawei also had to incorporate.
