I currently serve on the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) that assists the IGF Secretariat and Host Governments in convening the Internet Governance Forums.</font></div><div><font color="#0000ff"><br></font></div><div><font color="#0000ff"><br></font></div><div><font color="#0000ff"><br></font></div><div><ol><li style="margin-left:15px"><font color="#0000ff">I come with an open mind to learn from each of you on the Track and also to exchange views and seek ways to focus on the treatment of geographic names at the top-level.<br></font></li><li style="margin-left:15px"><font color="#0000ff">I was wondering what subsequently transpired following the<i> Independent Review </i><br><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">ICDR No. 01-16-0000-7056</font><span style="font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT;font-size:12pt"> </span>in July 2017 via International Dispute Resolution between Amazon and ICANN, post the <a href="https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/irp-amazon-final-declaration-11jul17-en.pdf" target="_blank">Review</a>.</font></li><li style="margin-left:15px"><font color="#0000ff">Noting the ICANN Board <a href="https://www.icann.org/resources/board-material/resolutions-2017-09-23-en#2.e" target="_blank">Resolution</a> on the 23rd of September, 2017 and the Resolution <a href="https://features.icann.org/consideration-amazon-eu-s%C3%A0rl-v-icann-independent-review-process-final-declaration" target="_blank">Text</a>.</font></li><li style="margin-left:15px"><font color="#0000ff"><a href="http://aodigitalhub.com/2017/10/23/icann-reconsider-amazon-domain-applications/" target="_blank">Historical Overview</a> by David Stone on the Amazon saga.</font></li><li style="margin-left:15px"><font color="#0000ff">Noting that one of the pillars and <a style="color:rgb(34,34,34)">core</a> of Amazon's Argument lies in the interpretation of the TRIPS Agreement where they argue that there can be no "false claims" to geographical names.</font></li><li style="margin-left:15px"><font color="#0000ff">Clearly, there are many things to learn from each other in the Work Track, noting that interest in this topic and divergent views express across the ICANN community.</font></li><li style="margin-left:15px"><font color="#0000ff">On this list, I personally do not represent the views of the constituencies, I belong to and so the views expressed in this Track will largely be my personal views unless otherwise expressed.
