We are pleased to share that application for the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) 2017 in Seoul is open till 8 June. APIGA 2017 is a five-day capacity development workshop on ICANN and Internet governance related topics. 

 

The program is open to participants:

-               from the Asia Pacific Region

-               who are currently students (undergraduates or graduates from a university/tertiary educational institution) and who are interested in how the Internet works

-               between the ages of 18 and 35

 

To register, please click HERE. Please note that the application closes on 8 June 2017, Thursday at 23:59 KST (UTC+09:00). Fellowships will be awarded to all successful applicants travelling to Seoul from outside of Korea.

More about Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (Seoul) 2017 | 7 – 11 August

  

The Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (Seoul) 2017 is a five-day capacity development workshop on ICANN and Internet governance related topics. Taking place from 7-11 August 2017 at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, the academy is targeted at tertiary undergraduate and graduate students from the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The programme will increase your understanding about important topics related to the Internet, its governance and the multistakeholder model. It will also avail opportunities for you to participate in multistakeholder Internet governance in the region.  

 

What to Expect?

 

Participants can expect a holistic learning experience through informative and participative seminars. Featuring speakers from local, regional and global organizations, the extensive discussions will cover themes ranging from Internet governance, multistakeholder model, ICANN, the future of the Internet, and other related topics. The workshop will finally culminate with a Mock ICANN Conference.

 

In preparation for the academy, participants will be enrolled in online courses developed by ISOC and ICANN that will span about four weeks. 

 

The academy is jointly hosted by the Korean Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and ICANN, in collaboration with other regional Internet organizations.

 

Who are Invited?

 

We welcome all participants who are:

-               Between the ages of 18 and 35

-               Undergraduate / graduate students and graduates from universities and tertiary educational institutions from the APAC region

-               Interested in how the Internet works, and have an interest in shaping the future of the Internet. A technical or Computer Science background is not required.

 

Fellowships will be awarded to all successful participants travelling from outside of Korea.
