With the kind support of APNIC, the Internet Society of Australia will
be holding an event on Tuesday, 16th September as part of APNIC 38 in
Brisbane.

Philip Smith, the Chair of the Asia Pacific Internet Association will
speak about the importance of IXPs and give examples
from the Asia AND Pacific region.

*****
An Internet Exchange Point is the foundation for a successful Internet
economy, and is vitally important for the growth of the Internet in the
locality it serves. The talk will explain what IXPs are, how and why
they were created, the benefits they bring, and the technologies used.
The talk then looks at some of the success stories, from the early 90s
in Europe, to the current day in the Asia Pacific region.
