Subject: [APAC-Discuss] APRALO ALSs active participation

Dear APRALO colleagues,
First of all, congratulations with the starting of the new education year, I
hope this year will bring more development and more inclusive communication
among ourselves for the prosperity of At Large community.
Secondly, there are several action items, discussed during our last call,
which I would like all of you participate actively and bring your
contribution. Those who participated in our monthly call on August 27 may
already know about this, but I would like to make sure that all ALSs are
aware. 1. APRALO Rules of Procedure: APRALO has an intention to form a
Working Group (WG) to review current APRALO Rules of Procedure (ROPs) see:
https://community.icann.org/display/APRALO/RALO+Organising+Documents so
they are in line with the revised ALAC Rules of Procedure; see
https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/Rules+of+Procedure. We have
asked for volunteers for this WG and Cheryl Langdon-Orr already volunteered
to be a member of this group. We are asking for more volunteers to work in
this group to revise the ROPs and come up with suggestions. Please, those
who would like to volunteer, send your names via our mailing list. As soon
as several people will volunteer to form this group, the WIKI page as child
page of the RALO Organising Documents, entitled "APRALO Rules of Procedures
Review 2013" which has been created by the staff for the intention for all
of you to visit and post your comments, even if you are not a member of this
group and several calls will be organized for this purposes. 2. Updating
APRALO ALSs information in Wiki see:
https://community.icann.org/display/APRALO/APRALO+ALSes; - This relates to
ALL ALSs: please, visit this wiki page and update or post the information
about your ALSs there. We need all updated information. Please, post your
organization's logo and the brief information there. If you have technical
issues to do that, please, ask the staff for the support and send the
information via staff at atlarge.icann.org 3. Participation in APRALO monthly
calls. As you all know we have monthly conference calls and the information
about our calls is being posted and reminders are being sent constantly via
APRALO mailing list. We urge you all to participate actively in those
monthly calls. A Working Group is developing a matrix to measure everyone's
participation. It will be one of the tools we will be using when deciding
who will be part of the At large Summit II (ATLAS II), which will take place
in London, June, 2014. We are hoping you will be there, so we'd like to hear
you all for our monthly meetings. 4. APRALO ALSs Spotlights -
https://community.icann.org/display/APRALO/APRALO+ALSes+SpotlightAs you all
are aware and this suggestion was proposed by many of you during our meeting
in Beijing, from now on we will be having one ALS per call to present their
ALS. This is a new initiative intended to showcase one APRALO ALS per month.
The monthly APRALO Spotlight ALS will be asked to introduce their ALS during
the APRALO monthly call. In addition information and activities of the
featured ALS will be posted in this Workspace. We encourage you to volunteer
for the coming months for this initiative and send in advance the
information to the staff to post in Wiki space. During August call Satish
Babu presented his ALS, Computer Society of India (CSI). We intend to post
one week in advance to our calls the name of the ALS, which will be
presented, for everyone to prepare the questions and comments to the
presenter, to make this initiative more interactive and not just a
presentation.
Enjoy you day and thank you once again for your active participation.
Best,
Siranush VardanyanAPRALO Vice ChairArmenia
