Subject: [APAC-Discuss] Thank you note and NomCom update
Dear APRALO colleagues,
I am really humbled and thankful of the trust you are putting in me.
I would like to express my great thankfulness to all those who supported my candidacy, but I would like to express even more appreciation to YJ and Satish and ask for your continuous support and experience sharing. Your contribution to APRALO region is really very valuable and I am looking forward working with you both, as well as with Holly as a Chair and Fouad as Vice Chair. I am also looking forward of working with everyone in this region.
With this e-mail I am also sending you NomCom updates, where the major activities implemented during June are highlighted.
As you have seen already the announcement, this year NomCom received largest number of applications since 2003 (the announcement is posted here: http://www.icann.org/en/news/announcements/announcement-31may13-en.htm).
The 2013 NomCom has received 12 applications from Africa, 30 from Asia/Australia and the Pacific Islands, 32 from Europe, 18 from Latin America and the Caribbean Islands, 18 from North America. 27 candidates are female and 83 are male.
Currently the NomCom completed the recruitment phase and moved on to the evaluation phase. A very important work still to be done.
Enjoy your reading and once again thank you ALL very much for your confidence and encouragement to select me in APRALO Vice Chair position.
