Hi Hong.

Funding support for 3 workshop role players is to my knowledge already
confirmed. I will know in a few days if the full panel can be covered
through collaboration with the ICANN VIP Team.

Based on last year's experience, ICANN support can only be used to support
role players for approved workshops.

In the case of the IDN workshop, the focus is still awareness raising about
the Root LGR process and implications for language communities. This means
the role players need to have script expertise and understand the Root LGR
process. More specifically, we will be focusing on scripts that are
shared across languages because of the potential disputes that may come
about (eg, 1 Han script expert to cover CJK, 1 Arabic script expert to
cover usage in both middle eastern and asian context, 1 Indic expert to
cover the South Asian languages, etc). If there are community members who
have such expertise, they should let me know so that their names can be
gathered and considered for participation whether in person or via remote
participation.

Best regards,

Rinalia
