[APAC-Discuss] Report on Recent Activities of APRALO

APRALO is happy to see new ALS'es joining us this month from Hong Kong,
Netmission.asia which is a group of youngsters learning about the internet
and giving another perspective on the issues. Then we have a new one ISOC
Pakistan going to be able to join us soon too.

APRALO would be looking at the success of the NARALO showcase event in San
Francisco. Looking at how the process was done, we would be using the same
metaphor for the event coming up in Singapore. We would be in contact with
staff to give us the templates so we can start work earlier. Also it would
be important to look for a keynote speaker as soon as possible.

Edmon and Charles from APRALO would be working on drafting comments from the
region on the issue of IDN, new gTLDs. They would share this draft with
APRALO for further comment.

Election process for the new chair would be beginning soon. APRALO would be
in contact with staff soon to go over the details and the date. Any
candidates who do come in mind should be mentioned as soon as possible.

APRALO would be working with the NonCom to recommend some candidates
suitable for working in crucial openings in ICANN in the coming year.
