Dear Colleagues,

As noted during the APRALO call on 26 October 2010, the BCEC released
the final slate of candidates for the Board Director position (see
full announcement:
http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/pipermail/alac-announce/2010q4/000685.html).

The current time-line for the Board Director selected by the
ALAC/At-Large Community is:

·         28 October:  BCEC to announce slate of 3 candidates and SOI details;
·         28 October - 12 November: Campaigning period, including
community call for candidate debate, and RALO discussions on
candidates;
· 15-19 November: RALO discussions on candidates continue and
ALAC and RALO chairs vote for At-Large Director;
· 10 December: Successful candidate takes seat on ICANN Board.

APRALO, in line with the above-mentioned tight schedule, now commences
the regional consultation officially.

Please note the following steps and measures:

a) Candidates/applicants' campaign

A slate of 3 candidates and 19 other applicants may campaign to our
Community to seek support. We note that Not all the campaigners have
the posting rights on the APRALO list.

APRALO, in order to ensure their equal opportunity for campaigning,
kindly asks all campaigners to send their statements or messages to
the Staff <staff at atlarge.icann.org>, who will then forward to the list
till the end of campaigning period, 12 November 2010.

b) RALOs' petition for additional candidate(s)

Petitioned applicant(s) can be added to the slate by a formal request
of at least three RALOs. APRALO will launch an online VOTING to let
all the ALSes to decide whether to petition for any applicant or
applicants out of the BCEC's slate to be a candidate or candidates.
Please note that even if APRALO decides to petition for any applicant,
the petition may not be successful if no other two RALOs support the
motion.

Since APRALO, if decides to petition for any one, must consult at
least other two RALOs for joint action, the VOTE must be completed
timely to allow for cross-RALO consultation. Voting period is
tentatively set from 5 November to 12 November 2010.
