<p>At the GAC-SSAC meeting in Helsinki (Thursday, 30 June),
after Patrik explained why SSAC was going to issue 083, there
was some discussion on whether the dotless domain issue should
be mentioned in the GAC Helsinki communiqué. However it was
pointed out that GAC already took up the matter in its Durban
(2013) communiqué (<span style="font-size: 12pt;">"</span><span
style="font-size: 12pt; font-family:
Calibri,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The GAC Advises the
ICANN Board to: a. As a matter of urgency consider the
recommendations contained in the SSAC Report on Dotless
Domains (SAC053) and Internal Name Certificates (SAC057)").
Most countries that took the floor felt it was not necessary
to repeat the advice in Helsinki communiqué.</span></p>
