The Policy Development Process on the retirement of ccTLDs reaches an
important milestone
The ccNSO membership recently voted in support of the ccNSO Council
recommendation to adopt the proposed policy on the retirement of ccTLDs.

.
The proposed policy is about the trigger event of a ccTLD retirement
process, the retirement process itself, and the impact of the trigger event
on the Root Zone Database. The policy is directed at ICANN, and within
scope of the ccNSO policy development process as stated in Annex C of the
ICANN Bylaws.
As a next step, a report on the voting will be sent to the Issue Manager.
The report will be included in the Draft Board Report, which - after
approval by the ccNSO Council - will be submitted to the ICANN Board of
Directors.
