TECH DAY

Tech Day will be held as a second, virtual technical workshop at ICANN69 on
Monday, 19 October 2020.

The Tech Working Group seeks presenters. Proposals should preferably focus
on one of the following topics:

   1. DNSSEC, in particular within the European Region and with regards to
   SHA-1 Transition
   2. RDAP implementations
   3. Best security management practices, lines of defence, to protect the
   registry from bad actors, attacks or malware

In addition, Tech WG welcomes suggestions for additional topics. Those
interested in presenting should contact
ccNSO-techday at icann.org

Tech Day has been a part of ICANN meetings since 2006 and has provided a
forum for both experienced and new people to meet, present and discuss
technical topics related to registry and DNS work and security.

ccTLD NEWS SESSION

The ccNSO Meetings Programme Committee (MPC) will organise for the second
time a set of Virtual ccTLD News Sessions. The MPC seeks presentation
proposals from the ccTLD community, focusing preferably on one of the
following 2 topics:

   1. Policy updates by ccTLD registries during the COVID-19 pandemic
   2. Legislative initiatives that impact ccTLD registries (e.g. the Digital
   Services Act package

Governance Session

This is a consultation of the ccNSO membership, regarding some highly
visible topics that impact the governance of the ccNSO, in particular the
expected interaction between, and the roles & responsibilities of the
Council and ccNSO membership respectively.  The session is intended to
provide input to the ccNSO Council and the ccNSO Guidelines Review
Committee (GRC).
Q&A with the ccNSO Council Candidates
Tuesday, 13 October 2020 (12:00-13:30 UTC)

This Q&A session will provide the ccNSO members and broader ccTLD community
an opportunity to interact with the candidates for the ccNSO Council. The
list of candidates will become available on 8 October, following a call for

The impact of COVID-19 on ccTLD managers

This session will address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on ccTLDs,
especially related to trends on registration numbers, and operational
aspects.
Q&A with the ICANN Board Seat 12 candidates
Thursday, 15 October 2020 (12:00-13:30 UTC)

This Q&A session will provide the ccNSO members and broader ccTLD community
an opportunity to interact with the candidates for the position of ICANN
Board seat 12. The candidates are Nigel Roberts and Katrina Sataki. An
election will be held – starting in November 2020, after completion of the
due diligence verifications – according to the timeline previously agreed

Q&A with the ccTLD-related ICANN Board members
Tuesday, 20 October 2020
(14:30-15:30 UTC)

The ICANN Board of Directors consists of sixteen voting directors,
including two directors nominated by the ccNSO. Currently these two Board
members are Chris Disspain and Nigel Roberts. Chris’s term ends at the end
of ICANN69. Patricio Poblete will replace Chris.
In addition, other ICANN Board members with an association with a ccTLD are
invited to this session: Becky Burr, Danko Jevtovic, Rafael Lito Ibarra.

During a closed, Extraordinary ccNSO Council meeting, the ccNSO Council
(excluding Katrina, since she is one of the candidates) received a status
update on the Board Seat 12 nomination process 2021 and discussed the
current state of affairs. The next ccNSO Council meeting is scheduled for
17 September 2020 (21:00 UTC.)
