[ALAC] April - May 2019 Highlights of CCNSO Activities

Dear ALAC,

April updates of the Country Code Name Supporting Organization are
available on the WIKI. Kindly visit the platform for a comprehensive
update on what is happening in the ccNSO. That said, a few highlights
of what has been happening in the ccNSO include:

1. Review of the KOBE meeting in line with the efforts to improve how
ccNSO meetings are conducted. The objective is to increase
participation of members in meetings thus ensuring they are more
efficient and effective.

2. Appointment of members to the Internet Governance Liasion Group

3. Approval of new members . .La (Laos Peoples Republic Officially
joined the ccNSO)

4. Response to the blog post from the ICANN CEO and President on IRP
which received input from the ALAC

5. The ccNSO appointed co-chair to the GNSO Subsequent procedures
Working Group (WT5) Annebeth Lange is retiring on 1st May 2019 from
NORID. She is however willing to continue as co-chair and has full
support of NORID which will support her participation. The Council
unanimously supported Annebeths reappointment as WT5 Co Chair.
6. The Council is currently working on a road map to review and update
the IDN overall policy. The Council issued a call for volunteers for
the working group that will spearhead the process which will be
ratifies in the next ccNSO Council Call on 23rd May 2019
