I normally don’t try to just agree with a string, but in this case, First -
this is absolutely operational, and also something that is particularly in
Fadi’s area - it is what he is saying more than Steve.  And Carlton is right
- in issues that are this important, we can go to Fadi - but only
judiciously, when it’s really important

One point, if I may: the letter is addressed to the CEO. But while serving
on the ALAC, on several occasions I remarked that the "natural" interlocutor
for the Chair of the ALAC is/should be the Chair of the Board, on the
grounds that an Advisory body is not directly connected with the operational
head of ICANN, but with its policy- and decision-making entity, which is the
Board.
