The Temporary Specification was originally approved [icann.org]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.icann.org_news_announcement-2D2018-2D05-2D17-2Den&d=DwMFaQ&c=FmY1u3PJp6wrcrwll3mSVzgfkbPSS6sJms7xcl4I5cM&r=mrDeztziKLa7gZqGADzxcnHA3QXmXYsnChWYBR4NElI&m=GMNrUpEHV0RxNxNZtelmQvmnqHr-132xUOI_U1SPCdw&s=O5TszKLeQqFiL34mC2wAuDll44-9cqrQ4dXzUUMZRq0&e=> by the Board on 17 May 2018 and reaffirmed on 21 August 2018, in order to establish temporary requirements for how ICANN and its contracted parties will comply with existing ICANN contractual requirements and community-developed policies in relation to the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
