[AFRI-Discuss] Consensus call: To approve the AFRALO response to the public comment “Draft Report of the 2023 Africa Domain Name Industry Study"

Dear AFRALO members,



On behalf of Hadia Elminiawi, AFRALO Chair, this is a consensus call in accordance to article 8.1 of AFRALO operating principles,  to approve the AFRALO response to the public comment  “Draft Final Report of the 2023 Africa Domain Name Industry Study


On 21 December 2023, the Public Comment opened. The comment will close on 08 February 2024.


On Monday 29 January 2024 AFRALO Chair held a call open to all AFRALO members to review and discuss the document. The following AFRALO members volunteered as penholders: Hadia Elminiawi, Hervé Hounzandji,  Levy Syanseke and Adebunmi Akinbo.


On Wednesday, 31 January 2024, Hadia Elminiawi presented an overview of the Draft Final Report of the 2023 Africa Domain Name Industry Study and the main points from the perspective of AFRALO.


The pen holders have drafted the following Statement:

Please review the document by Monday, 05 February at 23:00 UTC.  


With the support of AFRALO, and if no objections or comments are received, the report will be sent to the ALAC to be endorsed. Policy staff will submit the statement to ICANN org on 8 February 2024.
