Dear All,

On behalf of the AFRALO Leadership, we are announcing the start of the call for nominations for the AFRALO Interim ALAC Representative position that is available due to the resignation of Sarah Kiden. This is an interim position with a term starting immediately upon selection through the end of the 2024 AGM.

AFRALO Selection Timetable for 2023

  *   24 May 2023 - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.
  *   24 May - 7 June - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 10 working days).
  *   14 June 2023 - Deadline for nomination acceptances
  *   19 June 2023 - 21 June 2023 (TBC) - Call with the candidates if desired by AFRALO.
  *   26 -30 June 2023 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline).
  *   30 June 2023 - Newly elected ALAC Member shall be seated immediately upon selection given the vacant position.

Please note that nominations, including self-nominations, must be made directly to the  afri-discuss at atlarge-lists.icann.org<mailto:afri-discuss at atlarge-lists.icann.org> list. Any current subscriber to this list can make nominations.

Nominators must also post the nomination at the directly on the 2023 AFRALO Interim ALAC Representative Selection workspace<https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/2023+AFRALO+Interim+ALAC+Representative+Selection>, or by sending a mail to At-Large staff.

Au nom de la direction d'AFRALO, nous annonçons le début de l'appel à candidatures pour le poste de représentant intérimaire d'ALAC d'AFRALO qui est disponible en raison de la démission de Sarah Kiden. Il s'agit d'un poste intérimaire dont le mandat commence immédiatement après la sélection jusqu'à la fin de l'AGA 2024.
Calendrier de sélection AFRALO pour 2023
• 24 mai 2023 - Annonce de l'appel à candidatures et déclaration du candidat.
• 24 mai - 7 juin - Période de nomination (nominations acceptées pendant 10 jours ouvrables).
• 14 juin 2023 - Date limite d'acceptation des nominations
• 19 juin 2023 - 21 juin 2023 (à confirmer) - Appel avec les candidats si souhaité par AFRALO.
• 26 -30 juin 2023 - Élections (si nécessaire, les élections débuteront au plus tard une semaine après la date limite d'acceptation des candidatures et se termineront au plus tard deux semaines après cette date limite).
• 30 juin 2023 - Le membre de l'ALAC nouvellement élu sera assis immédiatement après sa sélection compte tenu du poste vacant.
