Dear Friends
Welcome back home and thanks to God.
Looking forward and also a proposal to the leadership for discussion, I want to refer to all the points and proposal raised by Mr. Tijani at the AFRALO General Assembly at the Conference as valid points. We could not discuss them because of lack of time during the session.
In that regard, I would propose that Mr. Tijani through the secretariat circulate the proposal again via email, so that we discuss it again during the teleconference and take a resolution.
Secondly, AFRALO would need to engage the AFRICAN Strategic committee under Pierre more to represent the interest of the Civil Society /ALSecs as much as they engage the business communities. This much was exposed during the session. Yes, we need to organize activities but any funding accruing from ICANN for activities in Africa should not be used for mainly domain names or registry activities. But also used through the various ALSecs to reach out to the end users in Africa.
Lastly, AFRALO should begin from now to set up organizing committees for ICANN 52 in Morocco. We need to work as a team and make it an AFRALO event and to support the local organizing committee.
Above all apart from the visa hitches ICANN 50 and ATLAS2 Summit was a huge success with the largest participants in the history of ICANN.
WE congratulate the leadership of ALAC and the ICANN staff for their efforts.
See you all soon again.
