FYI.

I feel very fortunate to be able to continue to work with such a great
community of passionate, dynamic, and dedicated people in the At-Large
community. I am certain that though there may be many viewpoints about
policy, process, and structure in the community, everyone cares about making
a positive difference for the individual Internet user in the important
policy areas in ICANN's remit. I believe this community can do great things
and look forward to doing my part to help support your efforts!

ICANN is pleased to announce that Nick Ashton-Hart has been appointed as
Director for At-Large after an intensive recruitment and consideration
process which involved members of the At-Large Advisory Committee,
At-Large and civil society community members, and members of ICANN's
Communications and Global Partnerships Departments. The primary
responsibility of this role is to encourage and support the global
individual Internet user community's (At-Large's) participation in
ICANN, including helping to advance At-Large's organizing and advocacy
efforts worldwide and supporting the activities of the At-Large Advisory
Committee and the Regional At-Large Organizations. Nick is based in
London. He will be assisted in this role by multi-lingual
administrative staff currently based in London and Marina del Rey,
California. All can be reached via email to <staff at alac.icann.org>.

Nick has nearly 20 years of experience in managing international
projects involving non-governmental organizations, civil society and
corporate interests in the Internet, media, and communications arenas.
Prior to joining ICANN, he served as the Executive Director of the
International Music Managers Forum, managed international IT projects
for numerous companies, and led multilateral programs involving the
United Nations and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

This position reports to the Vice President, Policy Development, Denise
Michel.

We welcome Nick to this role and wish him every success.

Regards,

Denise Michel
